AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE CODE REGARDING NON-
RESIDENT WATER AND SEWER RATES AND SEWER CONNECTION FEES
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has allowed non-residents to
connect to its water and/or sewer system; and
WHEREAS, after a review of their various rates and charges for connection to
and the continuous use of the Village water and sewer systems, it is deemed necessary to
amend various sections in order to update and make current the applicable rates as well as
provide for consistency in rate application.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 7-2-5-3A pertaining to water rates and charges for
property outside the Village be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
A. Water Rates: The rates for water services to all property not within
the Village limits upon which any building has been or may hereinafter be erected having
a connection with any Village water mains or pipes which presently exist or may
hereafter be constructed shall pay a basic user rate in an amount equal to one and one-half
(1 ''/z) times the minimum rates established in Section 7-2-5-113 of this Chapter.
Section 2: That Section 7-2-5-313-1 pertaining to sewer rates for metered users
for property outside the Village be amended to read as follows:
B. Sewer Rates 1: Metered Users The rates for sewer services to all
property not within the Village limits upon which any building has been or may hereafter
be erected having a connection with the Village sewer mains or pipes shall pay a user rate
in an amount equal to one and one-half (1 ''/z) times the minimum rates established in sub -
Section 7-2-5-2A-3.
Section 3: That Section 7-2-5-313-2 Non -Metered Users be amended to read as
follows:
B. Sewer Rates 2: Non -Metered Residential Users All non -metered
residential users of the wastewater facilities shall pay an amount equal to one and one-
half (1 ''/2) times the estimated water usage of the user. The estimated usage shall be
determined by calculating the average usage of metered users within the Village. The
average usage for residential users is 11,544 gallons per month.
Section 4: That Section 7-2-5-3 Rates and Charges for Property Outside the
Village be amended by adding thereto a new paragraph which shall read as follows:
C. Connection Charges All residential property for which a building
permit may hereafter be issued which requires a new connection with any main or pipes
which are or hereafter may be constructed and used in connection with the Village water
system shall pay a connection charge in the amount of $2,000.00 for a 5/8 inch
connection or $2,400.00 for a'/4 inch connection.
Section 5: That Section 7 -2 -5 -2A -3b Non -Metered Users is hereby deleted.
Section 6: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval according to law.
