AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7-2-5-4-C OF THE VILLAGE CODE
PERTAINING TO TERMINATION OF WATER SERVICE FOR NON-PAYMENT
AND ADMINISTRATIVE FEES ASSOCIATED THEREWITH
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 7-2-5-4-C Non-payment of charges: Termination of Service, be.
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
C. Non-payment of Charges; Termination of Service:
If any water and/or sewer bill remains unpaid after the due date, the
Finance Department shall initiate an administrative process to collect all
unpaid amounts, which process includes the shutting off of the water supply
for non-payment. Once the process has commenced, an administrative fee
shall be assessed as well as such other charges or deposits as are required by
the provisions of this Chapter. If the water supply is shut off, water shall not
be turned on again except upon the payment of the $75.00 administrative fee.
If the water supply is not shut off, due to the customer making payment of the
past due bill, the administrative fee shall be added thereto.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk is authorized to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication according to law.
