AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-12-1 COMMISSION CREATED/PURPOSE
OF CHAPTER 12 FOREIGN FIRE INSURANCE BOARD OF TITLE 2 BOARDS AND
COMMISSIONS OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE BY DECREASING THE NUMBER OF BOARD MEMBERS PURSUANT TO
SECTION 11-10-2 OF THE ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL CODE(65 ILCS 5/11-10-2)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 2-12-1 Commission Created/Purpose of the Village Code of
the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended by decreasing the number
of Board members from eleven (11) to seven (7); which shall consist of the fire chief, who shall
hold office by virtue of rank, and six (6) members, who shall be elected at large by the sworn
members of the department. All sworn members of the department shall be eligible to vote for
and be elected as officers of the board. The members of the board shall annually elect officers.
These officers shall be a chairman and a treasurer.
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
