AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE A. PEDDLERS AND ARTICLE B.
SOLICITORS OF CHAPTER 9 PEDDLERS AND SOLICITORS OF TITLE 3 OF THE
ELK GROVE VILLAGE CODE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-9A-3 D.: Requirements and restrictions: be and the same is
hereby amended by adding thereto:
No Peddler shall conduct business within residential areas of the village.
Section 2: That Section 3-9A-3 E.: Requirements and restrictions: be and the same is
hereby amended by removing the words "residence or".
Section 3: That Section 3-9B-1: Definitions: Soliciting: be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Soliciting: Any one or more of the following activities within residential areas of the village:
Section 4: That Section 3-9-B-1: Definitions: Soliciting: be further amended by adding thereto
paragraph E. as follows:
E. Seeking to sell, offer for sale, sell and deliver, barter or exchange any goods, merchandise, article
or thing.
Section 5: That Section 3-9B-4: Restrictions on Issuance of Certificate: be and the
same is hereby amended by adding thereto:
No certificate of registration shall be issued to any person under the age of eighteen.

Section 6: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this ordinance in
pamphlet form.
Section 7: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication according to law.
