AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO VERIZON WIRELESS
TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF TWO (2) 100' LIGHT STANDARDS TO BE
USED AS CELLULAR COMMUNICATION TOWERS AND TWO (2) 80' LIGHT
STANDARDS, ALL FOUR (4) OF WHICH TO BE USED BY ELK GROVE HIGH
SCHOOL FOR THEIR ATHLETIC FIELDS ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 500 WEST
ELK GROVE BOULEVARD (ELK GROVE HIGH SCHOOL)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village, at a Public
Hearing duly called and held according to law, considered the question of granting a Special Use
Permit to Verizon Wireless allowing for the construction of two (2) 100' light standards to also
be used as cellular communication towers and two (2) 80' light standards, all four (4) of which to
be used by Elk Grove High School for their athletic fields at property located at 500 West Elk
Grove Boulevard, Elk Grove Village, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, after
reviewing the recommendation and finding of said Plan Commission, find and believe that it is in
the best interest of the Village to grant the Special Use Permit as requested subject to the
conditions set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a Special Use Permit to Verizon Wireless allowing for
the construction and installation of two (2) 100' light standards (one (1) at an initial height of 80'
to be increased at a later date) which standards will also be used as cellular communication
towers and two (2) 80' light standards all four (4) of which will be used by Elk Grove High
School for their athletic fields on property located at 500 West Elk Grove Boulevard, Elk Grove
Village, Illinois.
Section 2: That the Special Use Permit herein granted also provides for the construction
of a 12' by 40' equipment shelter which shall house Verizon's equipment, an emergency
generator, and provide for a concession stand to be used by Elk Grove High School.
Section 3: That this Special Use Permit is subject to the condition that Verizon provide
compensatory storage for the site as approved by the Village.
Section 4: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
