AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION OF SECTION 2-2 OF THE ZONING
ORDINANCE TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A ONE HUNDRED AND
NINETY SQUARE FOOT SHED LOCATED APPROXIMATELY TWO AND A HALF
FEET FROM THE SIDE PROPERTY LINE AND SIX FEET FROM THE REAR
PROPERTY LINE ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 847 BONITA AVENUE, ELK
GROVE VILLAGE (GOLDSTEIN)
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals, at a public hearing duly called and held
according to law, considered the question of granting a variation of Section 2-2 of the Zoning
Ordinance which defines a storage shed as, "an accessory structure not exceeding one hundred
and fifty (150) square feet in area used for the storage of items, other than vehicles, that are
associated with the residential use of the primary structure to permit a one hundred ninety (190)
square foot (16'-3" x 1 I'-8") shed located two and a half feet (2 '/') from the side property line
and six feet (6') from the rear property line on property located at 847 Bonita Avenue and legally
described hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village find
and believe that sufficient hardship exists so as to justify the granting of said variation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a variation of Section 2-2 of the Zoning Ordinance to
permit the construction of a one hundred ninety (190) square foot (16'-3" x 1 P-8") shed located
two and a half feet (2 Y') from the side property line and six feet (6') from the rear property line
on property located at 847 Bonita Avenue, Elk Grove Village and legally described as follows:
Lot 1528 in Elk Grove Village Section 4, being a Subdivision of the South half of Section
28 and the North half of Section 33, Township 41 North, Range 1 1, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, according to the Plat thereof registered in the Office of the Registrar
of Titles of Cook County, Illinois on September 23, 1958 as Document No. 1819395.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in fall force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
