AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING ORDINANCE NO. 3305 AND AMENDING SECTION
6-8-2 OF THE VILLAGE CODE WHICH SECTION EXCLUDES CERTAIN
ACTIVITIES FROM THE VILLAGE'S GAMBLING PROHIBITION BY EXEMPTING
VIDEO GAMING
WHEREAS, the ordinances and regulations of the Village of Elk Grove Village exclude
all gambling within the Village except those activities specifically exempted pursuant to Section
6-8-2 of the Village Code; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, at a
Committee of the Whole meeting wherein the public was invited to participate, considered the
question of permitting video gaming in the Village pursuant to the Video Gaming Act (230 ILCS
40/1); and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation and finding of the Corporate Authorities of the
Village that video gaming be permitted in accordance with the provisions of 230 ILCS 40/1;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 6-8-2 EXEMPTIONS of the Village Code of the Village of Elk
Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
G. Video Gaming as authorized by and pursuant to the Illinois Video Gaming Act (230
ILCS 40/1)
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
