AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-7-D-6 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF
THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE PERTAINING TO STRUCTURES IN
YARDS (STORAGE SHEDS)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village, at a Public
Hearing duly called and held according to law, considered the question of approving a Text
Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village pertaining to storage sheds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, after
having considered the recommendation and finding of said Plan Commission, find and believe it
to be in the best interest of the Village that the proposed Text Amendment be added to the
Zoning Ordinance as hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-7-D-6 of the Zoning Ordinance be amended to read as
follows:
3-7-D-6 Storage sheds shall not be located closer than sixty feet (60) to the front lot line,
nor, closer than two feet (2) to the side or rear lot line unless greater restrictions are required by
easements. No storage shed shall exceed one hundred fifty (150) square feet in area, nor shall it
exceed twelve feet (12') in height measured from the highest finished grade to the highest point
of the shed.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and according to law.
