Home My WebLink AboutRESOLUTION - 23-13 - 5/14/2013 - CANVASSRESOLUTION NO. 23-13 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF THE CANVASS CONDUCTED BY THE CANVASSING BOARD OF THE COOK COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE OF THE VOTES OF THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION FOR VILLAGE OFFICIALS HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2013 AND PROCLAIMING THE RESULTS WHEREAS, a Consolidated Election was held in and for the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 for the purpose of electing one (1) Mayor — for a four (4) year term; three (3) Village Trustees - each for a four (4) year term; two (2) Library Trustees - each for a six (6) year term; one (1) Library Trustee — for a four (4) year tern; and WHEREAS, the Cook County Clerk canvassed the results of the election and as required by Statute transmitted the following totals to the Village Clerk. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That said election was duly held as provided by law. Section 2: That a total of 784 ballots were cast in the following manner: For the Office of Mayor: Craig B. Joluison 634 For the Office of Village Trustee: Christine K. Prochno 635 Jeffrey C. Franke 622 Pat Feichter 603 For the Office of the Library Board of Trustees (six (6) year term): JoAnn Shafar 618 Bruce D. Barnett 607 For the Office of the Library Board of Trustees (four (4) year term): Martin Gardner 637 Section 3: That the Proclamation of the Canvassing Board is hereby accepted in total. Section 4: That Craig B. Johnson received the highest number of votes for the Office of Mayor and is hereby declared elected to the Office of Mayor of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four (4) years. Section 5: That Christine K. Prochno, Jeffrey C. Franke and Pat Feichter received the highest number of votes for the Office of Village Trustee and they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Village Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a tern of four (4) years. Section 6: That JoAnn Shafar and Bruce D. Barnett received the highest number of votes for the Office of Library Board of Trustees and they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a tern of six (6) years. Section 7: That Martin Gardner received the highest number of votes for the Office of Library Board of Trustee and is hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four (4) years. Section 8: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after it passage and approval according to law. VOTE: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 0 PASSED this 14`h day of May 2013.
