AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-5-13 B OF THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE
CODE PERTAINING TO THE BREEDING OF ANIMALS
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 6-5-13 B of the Elk Grove Village Code which currently reads
as follows:
B. Breeders: Any breeder, whether a breeder (hobbyist) or a breeder (professional) shall
not permit any one animal to produce more than two (2) litters in any one calendar year, shall be
amended to read as follows:

not permit any one animal to produce more than two (2) litters in any one calendar year. In
addition, it shall be unlawful for any breeder to produce more than two litters per year
irrespective of the number of animals owned, if the litters are produced in a residential zoned
district.
Section 2: Penalties: Any person violating any provisions of this chapter, unless
otherwise provided, shall be fined not less than twenty five dollars ($25.00) nor more than five
hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense. A separate offense shall be deemed committed on
each day during, or on which a violation occurs or continues.
Section 3: That the Village Clerk is authorized to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet
form.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
