AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-7:D.5 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF
THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE PERTAINING TO THE PROJECTION OF
SILLS, BELT COURSES, CORNICES AND ORNAMENTAL FEATURES IN
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village, at a Public
Hearing duly called and held according to law, considered the question of approving a Text
Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village pertaining to the projection of sills, belt
courses, cornices and ornamental features in Industrial Districts; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, after
having considered the recommendation and finding of said Plan Commission, find and believe it
to be in the best interest of the Village that the proposed Text Amendment be added to the
Zoning Ordinance as hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-7:D.5 Structures in Yards be deleted in its entirety and
replaced as follows:
Every part of a required yard shall be open to the sky, unobstructed, except for the
ordinary projection of sills, belt courses, cornices and ornamental features projecting not
more than twelve inches (12") in the R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, A-1, A-2, A-3, B-1, B-2, B-3,
O -T and O -P districts. The same projections shall be allowed not exceeding thirty six
inches (36") in the I-1 and I-2 districts.
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
