AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-17-1 OF THE VILLAGE CODE TO
INCLUDE MOBILE GROOMERS IN THE LICENSING CHAPTER FOR KENNELS
AND PET SHOPS
WHEREAS, the Village currently licenses Kennels and Pet Shops with respect to the
grooming of small animals; and
WHEREAS, at present, Mobile Grooming Vehicles are not included in the definitions of
establishments subject to licensing and inspections but are operating within the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Licensing Officer of the Village has recommended that Mobile
Grooming Vehicles be included under the Village's licensing provisions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-17-1 Definitions of Chapter 17 Kennels and Pet Shops of Title
3 Business and License Regulations be amended to read as follows:
3-17-1 DEFINITION: Kennels and Pet Shops shall mean any establishment, including
Mobile Grooming Vehicles, where dogs, cats, fish, birds and other small animals are
housed, bred, groomed or sold.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication according to the law.
VOTE: AYES: 5 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 1
