at 8 : 05 p.m.

1 . PROGRAM - The order of business tonight will follow the
regular agenda. The swearing-in ceremony of the
Library Trustees and the new Village Trustee will occur
under the New Business portion of the agenda.
5. APPROVAL OF WARRANT
Motion to authorize payment of invoices as shown on the
April 25, 1995 Accounts Payable Warrant in the amount of

payment of $7, 641 to the Cook County Department of
Highways for shared traffic signal maintenance (11
intersections) under the 1995 maintenance contract .
E . Decision Servcom, Inc . . - Waive the formal bidding
process; and,
Renew a service contract with Decision Servcom, Inc.
formerly Decision Data Service, Inc. , of Itasca, IL to
provide maintenance of the IBM AS/400 system and
related computer hardware in an amount not to exceed
$8, 297 . 28 .
F. Motorola Inc . , Schaumburg, IL - Waive the formal
bidding process; and
Award a sole source maintenance contract for the period
of May 1, 1995 through April 30, 1996 for the
maintenance of the KDT (Computer sided dispatch)
equipment used by the Fire and Police Departments in an
amount not to exceed $10, 256 .40 .
G. Northwest Municipal Conference - Authorize the payment
of $12 , 202 for FY 1995-96 dues .
H. Friedman, Eisenstein, Raemer & Schwartz (FERS) ,
Chicago, IL. - Award a professional service contract to
perform the FY 1994-95 Annual Audit in an amount not to
exceed $19, 615 .
I . Chicago Communications Service, Inc . , Arlington
Heights, IL. - Waive the formal bidding process; and
Renew a service contract to maintain Motorola radio
equipment for the Police, Fire and Public Works
Departments in the amount of $23 , 761 . 96 .

contract for engineering design services for the water

O. Fire Administration Building - Increase the FY 1995-96
Fire Department Budget $47, 400; and
Award a contract to Popka Roofing Corporation, Chicago
Heights, IL, the lowest responsive and responsible
quoter, to remove and replace the mansard roofing at
the Fire Administration Building with 3-dimensional
laminated shingles at a total cost not to exceed
$47, 400, which is $43 , 400 plus $4 , 000 contingency.

GTE AIRFONE - This item was considered by the Plan
Commission and recommended for a Special Use Permit for a
tower in the Industrial Park provided that GTE agreed to
remove the tower if it is no longer in use or if they vacate
the property and also if the Zoning Board of Appeals grants
a variation for the tower to be constructed in the side
yard. The Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public
hearing and they concurred with the request for a variation
to permit the tower in the side yard.
Motion to direct the Village Attorney to prepare the
appropriate ordinance for a Special Use Permit for a tower
and a variation to permit the tower to be constructed in the
side yard at property located at 2700 Greenleaf with the
provision that GTE put up a Bond that would guarantee the
removal of the tower if at any time they vacate the property
or no longer use it .

a. CABLE TV COMMITTEE - TRUSTEES PETRI & RETTBERG
CONTINENTAL CABLEVISION - An extension from 30 to 90
days for the cable committee to review the new rates
that Continental is proposing was passed on the consent
agenda earlier this evening.
MEETING SCHEDULE - The next meeting of the Cable Group
will be held in Elk Grove Village on Thursday, May 4 ,
1995 at 7 : 30 p.m.
b. COMMUNITY SERVICE BOARD - TRUSTEE CZARNIK
PARADE - 1995 - Fifteen responses have been received
from organizations expressing interest .
PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL - Sandy Costanza, Community
Service Coordinator, has been appointed as the Elk
Grove Village representative on the Resource
Development Sub-Committee of the Private Industry
Council and the Northwest Municipal Conference . This
is the first time that the Village has been represented
on this committee . Congratulations to Sandy and the
Village .

professional service contract for six (6) months to

17 . NEW BUSINESS
MICHAEL A. TOSTO - President Gallitano presented a
Certificate of Appreciation to Michael A. Tosto from the
Joint Action Water Agency for serving as the Alternate
Director and for his part in the bringing of Chicago water
to the northwest suburban area.
The President related the various improvements and
developments that Trustee Tosto was instrumental in bringing
into the Village and the changes that have taken place over
his 22 years of dedicated service as a Village Trustee and
his 10 years as a Volunteer Fireman. He was presented
with an award of recognition for those many years of
service .
Trustee Tosto voiced his feelings thanking the people of Elk
Grove Village for the honor and privilege to serve for 32
years . Further thanking his family, past and present
Village Board members, staff and all Village employees .
Michael Tosto, upon presentation of his name plate, left the
dias to sit in the audience.
President Gallitano administered the Oath of Office to the
newly elected Library Trustees, Mary Jedzinek and Ralph
Schumann; and the re-elected Village Trustees James P. Petri
and Nancy J. Czarnik; and newly elected Trustee Samuel L.
Lissner.
Each Trustee, after taking the Oath of Office, spoke briefly
to the audience thanking the voters of Elk Grove Village and
stating their personnel agendas for the next four years .
RECESS - 8 : 28 p.m.
Trustees Czarnik, Petri and Lissner selected their respective
seats at the dias .
RESUME MEETING - 8 :30 p.m. All members present .
Trustees Chernick, Rettberg, Czarnik, Johnson, Petri and
President Gallitano gave recognition and tribute to outgoing
Trustee Michael Tosto.
