HomeMy WebLinkAboutVILLAGE BOARD - 12/27/1983 - SPECIAL MEETINGMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON DECEMBER 27, 1983 President Charles J. Zettek called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Trustees Joseph T. Bosslet, Ronald L. Chernick, Edward R. Hauser, James P. Petri, Michael A. Tosto; absent: Stephen M. Uhlarik. Villaqe Manaqer, Charles A. Willis; and village Clerk, Patricia S. Smith were also present at this meeting. President Zettek stated that the meeting tonight was to consider to award a purchase contract to Howell Tractor and Equipment, Elk Grove Village, in the amount of $39,420.00 from Federal Revenue Sharzng Funds to furnish and deliver a 2 c.y. front end loader. The following bids were received: Howell Tractor (International Hough) $39,420.00 West Side Tractor (John Deere) 52,538.00 Patten Tractor (Caterpillar) 54,879.00 Beer Motors '(Case) 65,142.00 The Purchasing Agent and the Director of Public Works recommend that the contract be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, Howell Tractor. It was moved by Trustee Tosto and seconded by Trustee Chernick that the Board award a purchase contract to Howell Tractor and Equipment, in the amount of $39,420.00 from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to furnish and deliver a 2 c.y. front end loader as recommended by the Purchasing Agent and the Director of Public Works. The President directed the Clerk to call the roll on the motion and upon the roll being called the following answered AYE: Trustees Bosslet, Chernick, Hauser, Petri, Tosto; MAY: none; ABSENT: Uhl.arik; whereupon the President declared the motion' carried. Trustee Tosto asked when the village could expect delivery of the equipment? Mr. Ray Sternberg, a representative from Howell Tractor stated the front and loader with a standard bucket could be delivered in two weeks, and the four in one bucket, which was part of the specified equipment would be delivered when available. Discussion followed as to the justification for a four in one bucket and whether it would be too heavy for the machine. The Village Manager said this attachment was selected predicated on the variety and flexibility of the jobs to be performed and that the equipment was designed to carry this bucket. Mr. Sternberg further stated that with the quick attachment which was also apart of the specifications the attachments can be changed In a matter of seconds. It was moved by Trustee Chernick and seconded by Trustee Petri that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m. Village C erk Village P sident`"_
