THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON MARCH 4, 1976
President Charles J. Zettek called the meeting to order at 8: 16 p.m. in the
Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and directed
the Village Clerk, Eleanor G. Turner to call the roll . Upon the roll being
called the following answered PRESENT: Trustees Ronald L. Chernick,
Edward W. Kenna, George T. Spees, Theodore J. Staddler, Michael Tosto,
Nancy L. Vanderweel . Village Attorney, Edward C. Hofert and Village
Manager Charles A. Willis were present at this meeting.
President Zettek announced that in accordance with Statutory and Municipal
Code provisions for a Special Meeting, that a Special Meeting of the
President and Board of Trustees was duly called and proper notices given
that said meeting would be held this date at 8:00 p.m. for the purpose of
consideration of the awarding of a contract for the pulling, examination
and repair, if necessary,of Well No. 7.
Following discussion, it was moved by Trustee Chernick and seconded by
Trustee Vanderweel that the Board enter into a contract with Layne-Western
Company, Inc, to handle problems at Well No. 7 as outlined in their
proposal dated March 4, 1976 (a copy of which is attached hereto) , and
that the Board authorize an expenditure not to exceed $30,000.00 for the
repair of this well , payable from the Water and Sewer Department Operating
Account. The President directed the Clerk to call the roll on the motion
and upon the roll being called the following answered AYE: Trustees Chernick,
Kenna, Spees, Staddler, Tosto, Vanderweel NAYS: None; ABSENT: None; whereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
President Zettek announced that a Press Release will be issued on Friday,
March 5, 1976 concerning proposed remedies to the flooding conditions in the
Village caused by heavy rainfall during this week. A copy of the release
is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
It was moved by Trustee Kenna and seconded by Trustee Tosto that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the President
declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 8:44 p.m.
