The motion was voted upon by acclamation; uhartsupon the Presldcnt declared the motion carried. President Zettek requested an Executive Session of the Board following this meeting to discuss the possible purchase of land. It was moved by Trustee Vanderweel and seconded by Trustee Specs that the Board adopt Resolution No. 54-74, entitled "A RESOLUTION COMIENDING DANIEL E. BYTNAR" and congratulating Mr. Bytnar for his quick and effective response in saving a companion from drowning in Lake Cosmon on April 17, 1974 when their canon overturned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the President declared the motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Specs and seconded by Trustee Vanderweel that the Board authorize the disbursement of $23 ,9004.82 from the Water and Sewer Department Operating Account , $37 ,011 -55 from the Central Corporate Account , $25-50 from the Civil Defense Fund Account , $125.CO from tie Federal Revenue Sharing Fund Account and $7,200.00 from the Municipal Buildings Construction Fund Account in payment of invoices as shown on the June 25, 1974 Accounts Payable Warrant. Betty Berek of 1130 Lovell Ct. questioned the Board concerning what action was being taken to correct improper Furnace installations which cause heat exchanges to crack and corrode in an estimated 1700 homes in the Village. The President stated that the Village is aware of the problem and has hired an expert consultant to determine what the problem is and at that time a remedy will be sought. The President also stated that anyone who feels he has an immediate problem with a faulty furnace should contact the Building Department for an inspection. The Clerk reported that the Plan Cormission has agreed that permission be granted the Elk Grove Estates Homeowners Association to construct a storage shed immediately south of Cosman Road and east of Lake Cosman. The Plan Comm- ission recommended that the building be of brick construction. Discussion followed and Mr. Furman Walters of the Homeowners Association requested that the Board consider granting approval for frame construction rather than brick. The Building Commissioner reported that frame construction is permitted under the provisions of the Building Code. It "as moved by Trustee. Upon the reconnendation of the Village Manager, the Village Board will meet as a Committee-of-the-Whole at 7: 00 p.m. , Tuesday, July 2 , 1974 to discuss allocation of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds and the need to establish priorities as to their use in order to meet deadlines in the program. The Manager reported briefly upon the inspection program which has been conducted by the Village concerning faulty furnace installations. Seven percent of those inspected have been found to be faulty. Trustee Kenna stated that there appears to be a great deal of concern over statements he made to the press which appeared in the Monday, June 24th issue of the Elk Grove Herald. Trustee Kenna stated that his remarks of anger were directed to the builder and not to the Building Department and if the Building Department employees felt offended he extended his opologies. It was moved by Trustee Chernick and seconded by Trustee Vanderweel that the meeting be adjourned.
