THE PRESILENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON JUNE 4, 1968
President Jack D. Pahl called the meeting to order at 8:06 p.m. in the
Municipal Building in said Village.
Upon the roll being called by the Village Clerk, Eleanor G. Turner, the
following Trustees answered "PRESENT" - Ronald L. Chernick, George C.
Coney, James R. Gibson, Eugene V. Keith, Richard A. McGrenera, Charles
J. Zettek; "ABSENT" - none.
President Pahl announced that this is a special meeting, called at the
last regular meeting of the President and Trustees for the purpose of
considering the annual 1968/69 working budget.
It was moved by Trustee Zettek that the budget, as submitted, be accepted.
The foregoing motion failed for lack of a second.
The Board proceeded to discuss the budget and beginning with page 1 , the
following changes were made:
Page 1 Contractual services budget reduced to $1 ,800.00 and
appropriate $3,300.00.
Page 4 Change $300.00 to $100.00 and reduce number of cabinets
to one (1) .
Page 3 Change President's salary from %900.00 to $750.00.
Change Trustees' salaries from $3,240.00 to $2,700.00.
Delete $120.00 overtime.
Page 5 Appropriate $1 ,800.00 for conferences and meetings but
budget $1 ,000.00.
Page 2 Appropriate $1 ,500.00 for professional services, but no
budget.
Page 5 $300.00 for Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission
instead of $500.00.
It was moved by Trustee Chernick and seconded by Trustee Zettek that
$7,000.00 be added to Community Services for counselor. The President
directed the Clerk to call the roll on the motion and upon the roll being
called, the following Trustees answered "AYE" - Chernick, Coney, McGrenera,
Zettek; "NAY" - Gibson, Keith; "ABSENT" - none. Whereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
Additional changes to the budget were made, as follows:
Page 16 Appropriate $1,000.00 for printing, but no budget.
Appropriate $200.00 for professional service, but no
budget.
Page 18 Appropriate $4,500.00 for professional service, budget
$1 ,000.00. Budget $1 ,000.00 for printing and reproduction
costs.
Page 24 Appropriate $30,000.00 but budget $17,200.00 as shown.
Page 28 Appropriate $3,500.00 on part-time personnel, budget as is.
Budget $3,000.00 for publishing and advertising.
Page 32 Budget $2,500.00, appropriate $5,000.00.
Page 38 Budget as is, appropriate $19,000.00 for Village Manager,
delete Administrative Assistant and overtime.

Page 37 Delete $2,000.00 professional, but appropriate X2,000.00.
The review of the budget at this meeting ended with page 40.
It was moved by Trustee Coney and seconded by Trustee Zettek that the
meeting be recessed to June 5, 1968 at 8:00 p.m. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation; whereupon the President declared the motion carried
and the meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m.
