Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following were present: Alan J. Shapiro, DDS , ABSENT: H. Robert Goldsmith. It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and 'seconded by Mr. Bantner that the minutes of March 22, April 7 , and April 15, 1993 be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES Peter Felice and Associates $ 280.00 Retainer fees for March, 1993 April , 1993 At $140.00 each Police Consultants 432.00 for MIA Reports Fire Lts. 24 at $18.00 ea. Dr. Charles Boyijian 415.00 Medical exam for John J. Kelly Firefighter applicant Total of Bills 1,127.00 It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Gayle Bantner that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Testing for Police Officers is being scheduled for June 17th for the orientation and June 27th for the written exam. Sergeants testing will be set for a later date. Adds for advertising in the newspapers will be the last weekend in May and the first two weekends in June. The legal notice has to be published 10 days before the orientation. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Commissioners met with Fire Chief James MacArthur to discuss evaluations and points for the lieutenants up coming promotional list. The Commissioners also, met with Deputy Police Chief Steve Schmidt and Police Officer John Pascoe on the Fact Sheet for the upcoming police officer exam. Fire and Police mmission Minutes March 22, 1993 Page 2 CORRESPONDENCE Notice of Suspension from the Police Chief was issued on April 22, 1993 to an officer for failure to be prompt for duty assignment, including roll call and court appearance. Notice of Written Reprimand from the Police Chief was issued on March 19, 1993 to an officer for failure to adequately secure, use, care for, and maintain property or equipment. The monthly minutes was received from the Illinois Fire & Police Commissioners Association. A Notice of Suspension was issued by the Fire Chief for 12 hours to Firefighter on probation based on his failure to abide by Article IX, Section 9.21 sub-Section A.13 and A.22 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of Elk Grove Village. Next meeting is scheduled for May 24, 1993 at the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue at 8:00 p.m. Adjournment It was moved by Gayle Bantner and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 12:00 midnight.
