THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS ,
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON JUNE 28, 1993

Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. /c
in the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village,
and noted for the record that the following were present: Alan J.
Shapiro, DDS, ABSENT H. Robert Goldsmith.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Bantner that the
minutes of May 24, 1993 and June 17, 1993 be approved as submitted and
that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
Bills from the Newspaper Ads for Police Testing.

Total of Bills $4,758.88
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Bantner that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the
motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Commissioners held one year probationary review with Police
Officer George D. Moujouros and Officer Moujouros was appointed to
permanent status with the Police Department.
The Commissioners held six month probationary reviews with Police
Officers Frank J. Vrchota and Patrick C. Hayes.
The regular scheduled meeting continued.
CORRESPONDENCE
A Notice of Suspension was issued by Police Chief Engelbrecht on
June 1 , 1993 to an officer for insubordination or disrespect toward a
supervisory member.
A Written Reprimand was issued by Police Chief Engelbrehct on
June 2, 1993 to an officer for failure to be prompt for duty
assignments, including roll call and court appearances.
A copy of a thank you letter written to Police Officer Olsen's
wife Gina, from Deputy Chief Schmidt, for volunteering to give a

speech for the Police Orientation, giving the wife's views on what it's
like being a police officers wife.
Copy of a denial response letter to Mr. Crichton from Fire and
Police Commission's attorney Peter Felice on his request for a copy of
his polygraph.
PENDING
Fire Lieutenants schedule for oral interviews for July will be
made.
No date has been set for the Sergeants test since there are no
openings at this time no testing before August or September.
Next meeting is scheduled for July 26, 1993 at the Municipal
Building, 901 Wellington Avenue at 8:00 p.m.
Adjournment
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Bantner that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation;
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
