Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following were present: Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, H. Robert Goldsmith and Peter Felice. It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Bantner that the minutes of June 28 and Special Meeting July 16, 1993 be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES B.O.T.S. bill for Police Officer $6,930 testing on June 27, 1993 for 308 Applicants at $22.50 ea and $5 Administration Fee not to exceed $500. 500 Total of Bills $7,430 It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Bar.tner that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION Executive session was called to meet with President Gallitano, Village Manager Gary Parrin, Fire Chief James MacArthur on personnel matters. The regular scheduled meeting continued. CORRESPONDENCE A written reprimand was issued on June 30, 1993, by Chief of Police Fred Engelbrecht to an officer for failure to appear in court when required or scheduled. Fire and Police Cor, ssion Minutes July 26, 1993 Page 2 A Notice of Suspension was issued on June 29, 1993, by Chief of Police Fred Engelbrecht to an officer for one day for disobedience of an order and insubordination or disrespect toward a supervisory member. A Notice of Suspension was issued on July 22, 1993, by Chief of Police Fred Engelbrecht to an officer for five days for the violation of Section IV Rules of Conduct as follows: 1. Violation of any law or ordinance. 2. Any action or conduct which impedes the Department' s efforts to achieve its goals or brings discredit upon the Department. 4. Any conduct or action taken to use the official position for personal gain or influence. 34. Engaging in any activity, conversation, deliberation, or discussion which is derogatory to the Department, any member or policy of the Department. A letter of retirement from Commander Robert J. Salvatore giving notice to the Commissioners of his retirement from the Police Department to take effect on August 6, 1993. A copy of Job Analysis Report for the Positions of Police Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and Chief in Illinois Police Departments. OLD BUSINESS Set up Group Orals for the Police Officer applicants as follows: August 26, 1993 2:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. September 2, 1993 2:00 P.m. - 11:00 p.m. September 23, 1993 2:00 P.m. - 11 :00 p.m. September 30, 1993 2:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. These are all Thursday dates. PENDING Fire Lieutenants Eligibility list is pending waiting for supervisors points. No date has been set for the Sergeants test since there are no openings at this time no testing before August or September. Fact Sheets will be compile after orals for the police officer applicants.
