OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON August 23, 1993

Chairman Gayle S. Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
in the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village,
and noted for the record that the following were present: Alan J.
Shapiro, DDS, ABSENT H. Robert Goldsmith.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Bantner that the
minutes of July 26 and Special Meeting July 29, 1993 be approved as
submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared
the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
Peter A. Felice & Associates $ 437.50
Response to Correspondence

Fire & Police Commission Stationary
Total of Bills $ 515.50
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Bantner that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation; w ereupon the Chairman declared the
motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Commissioners moved to Executive Session to review one year
probationary Firefighters Michael D. Sharp, Brian McVeigh & Mark
Percudani . The three Firefighters probationary status was changed to
permanent Firefighters for the Fire Department of Village of Elk Grove.
The regular scheduled meeting continued.
CORRESPONDENCE
A reference letter was received for one of the Police Candidates
from one of his bosses.
Correspondence letter between the Village Manager and Fire and
Police Commissioners attorney for retainer fee increase.
A letter from a police applicant expressing his displeasure of not
passing the written exam given on June 27, 1993.

A Written Reprimand issued by Police Chief Engelbrecht on August
13, 1993, to an officer for failure to be prompt for duty assignment
including roll call and court appearance.
A request card from the Illinois Fire & Police Recruitment
Administration requesting the date of our Firefighters Eligibility List
expiration date. Instructions were given to forward that information to
the agency.
OLD BUSINESS
One additional date was set for the Fire and Police Commissioners
to have one group of oral interviews on their regular monthly meeting
night, which is September 27, 1993 at 8:00 p.m.
The Lieutenants Eligibility List was completed and typed up to be
posted on August 26, 1993.
PENDING
No date has been set for the Sergeants test since there are no
openings at this time no testing before August or September. Fact
Sheets will be compile after orals for the police officer applicants.
Next meeting is scheduled for September 27, 1993 at the Municipal
Building, 901 Wellington Avenue at 8:00 p.m.
Adjournment
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Bantner that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation;
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
