HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 12/09/1993 - MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON December 9, 1993 Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following were present: Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, H. Robert Goldsmith. It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Goldsmith that the minutes of November 29, 1993 be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES Theodore Polygraph Service $ 60.00 For Police Applicant Gregory Gora Illinois Fire & Police Commissioners Assoc. 185.00 Membership dues for the three Commissioners Total of Bills $ 245.00 It was moved by Mr. Goldsmith and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Commissioners moved to Executive Session to conduct second oral interviews with four(4) police applicants. They were: Cheri Norway Kevin P. Finnen Janice J. Kopf Gregory C. Gora All four(4) applicants were offered a job with the Elk Grove Police Department pending their medicals to be conducted on December 14, 1994. The regular scheduled meeting continued. NEW BUSINESS No new business on the agenda for discussion Fire and Police .nmission Minutes December 9, 1993 Page 2 CORRESPONDENCE A memo from Fire Chief MacArthur to Village Manager asking to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Firefighter Martin Diaz. The request was approved and forward to the Fire and Police Commissioners for their action. OLD BUSINESS No business to be discussed. PENDING No date has been set for the Sergeants test since there are no openings at this time no testing before August or September. Fact Sheets will be compile after orals for the police officer applicants. Next meeting is scheduled for January 24, 1994, at the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue at 8:00 p.m. Adjournment It was moved by Dr Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned.
