HELD ON May 11 , 1994 It.
Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in
the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Flk Grove Village, and
noted for the record +hat the following were present: Alan J. Shapiro,
DDS, and H. Robert Goldsmith ABSENT.
It was moved by Dr Shapiro and seconded by Chairman Bantner that the
minutes of April 26, 1994 be approved as submitted and that the Board
dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
Chicago Suburban Times Newspaper $22.00
For advertising of legal notice
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Chairman Bantner that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion
was voted by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion
carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Study Sheets for Police Officers - Sergeants Exam to be passed out and
posted. This test will be given in the Fall .
Memo from Deputy Chief Stephen Schmidt on Channel 6 was table due to
the absence of Mr. Goldsmith. All should be present to discuss.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Fire and Police Commissioners met with One Year Probationary
Firefighters Carla A. Penn and John J. Kelly and they were granted
permanent status with the Elk Grove Fire Department.
The Fire and Police Commissioners also met with Fire Chief James
MacArthur and Deputy Fire Chief Bill Clark to discuss the upcoming
Firefighter exam dates and set tentatively dates for:
Orientation - June 27, 1994 at 8:00 p.m.
Written Exam - July 24, 1994 No time set yet
Physical Ability - August 21 & 28 No time set yet
The Orientation and Written Exam will be held at the Elk Grove High
School if school is available and the Physical Ability most likely will
be held in Streamwood.

A Special meeting was arranged to meet with Fire Chief MacArthur and
Deputy Fire Chief Clark on Wednesday, May 25, 1994 at 8:00 p.m. to go
over Fact Sheets and complete arrangements for testing.
Regular Meeting Continued
CORRESPONDENCE
One Written Reprimand issued on May 4, 1994, by the Police Chief to an
officer for failure to be prompt for duty assignment, including roll
call and court appearance.
Channel 6 memo was previously discussed and tabled under New Business.
OLD BUSINESS
No old business at this time.
Next regular meeting will be held June 27, 1994 at 8:00 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Chairman Bantner that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation;
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 10:50 p.m.
