Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove
Village, and noted for the record that the following were present:
Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, Gayle Bantner and Ted E. Thompson.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted E. Thompson that
the minutes of September 26, Firefighter Testing minutes of October 27,
November 3 and November 10, 1994 be approved as submitted and that the
Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.

It was moved by Ted E. Thompson and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that
the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared
the motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Commissioners Convened for Executive Session meeting with Deputy
Police Chief Steven Schmidt to discuss the upcoming Sergeants Exam and
possible request for a second police officer to be hired.
Regular meeting continued.

NEW BUSINESS
Prepared letter to Chief of Police reference evaluations and
points for after the Sergeants Exam.
The Commissioners instructed Evelyne Layton to call the next
Police Candidate on the Eligibility List to see if he/she was still
interested in Elk Grove. Upon the approval of the village Board to
hire an extra police officer to keep the Police Department at maximum
strength. Pending the sergeants Exam being held on November 10, 1994.
Schedule Mr. Michael Garrison for an oral interview with the Fire
and Police Commission on November 28, 1994 at 8:30 p.m. for opening in
the Police Department.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. On various dates the Chief of Police issued four(4) written
Reprimands to four(4) different Police Officers.
September 29, 1994 - Inattention to Duty
October 11, 1994 - Failure to be prompt for duty
assignment, including roll call
and court appearance
October 24, 1994 - Incompetency or inefficiency in
the performance of duty
October 31, 1994 - Inattention to Duty
2. On three different dates the Chief of Police issued three(3)
Notice of Suspension to three(3) different Police Officers.
September 23, 1994 - For one day
Any failure to promote the
Department's efforts to accomplish
its goals
Inattention to Duty
Incompetency or inefficiency in the
performance of duty.
October 4, 1994 - For one day
Failure to be prompt for duty
assignment, including roll call
and court appearance.
October 11, 1994 - For one day
Failure to appear in court when
required or scheduled.
3. Commander Ingebrigtsen letter of retirement effective November 2,
1994 from the Police Department after 25 years.
4. Publication for the Fall 1994, The Size Up from the Illinois
Professional Firefighters Association.

5. Numerous letters of reference were received from. Firefighter
Candidate John A. Adanks superiors.

Firefighter MIA results of October 27, 1994, November 3, 1994, and
November 10, 1994.
Next meeting is scheduled November 26, 1994, at the Charles J.
Zettek Municipal Building, 901 wellington Avenue at 8:00 p.m.
Adjournment
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted E. Thompson that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation;
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 8: 00 p.m.
