Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
in the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk
Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following were
present: Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, Gayle Bantner and Ted E. Thompson.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Commissioners convened for Executive Session to hold One year
Probationary Interviews with three probationary Police Officers. They
are officers Kevin P. Finnen, Janice J. Kopf and Cheri A. Norway. The
Officers have been granted permanent status with the Elk Grove Police
Department effective January 3, 1995.
The Commissioners then held Oral Interviews with two Police
candidates Michael J. Garrison and David M. Struwing who have been
hired pending their medical exams.
Regular meeting continued.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted E. Thompson that
the minutes of November 10, 1994 be approved as submitted and that the
Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
Illinois Fire & Police Commissioners
Association $ 195.00
Annual Dues for three Commissioners
Total of Bills $ 195.00
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted Thompson that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the
motion carried.

CORRESPONDENCE
A Written Reprimand and Notice of Suspension was issued to the
same officer by the Chief of Police on two different dates. Notice of
Suspension was issued on November 11, 1994, for failure to appear in
court when required or scheduled and the Written Reprimand was issued
on November 15, 1994, for incompetency or inefficiency in the
performance of duty.
Another Notice of Suspension was issued by the Chief of Police to
and officer on November 17, 1994, for inattention to duty.
OLD BUSINESS
The grades for the Firefighters are almost complete and the
Eligibility List most likely posted by the end of the week.
Grades for the Sergeants written exam are in but nothing can be
done at this time since all who took the Sergeants exam will be put
through all phases of the process.
PENDING
The Multiple Interview ASsessments(MIA) for Sergeant candidates
have been tentatively set for Thursday, January 19, 1995. More
information at a later date.
Next meeting is scheduled for January 23, 1994, at the Charles J.
Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue at 8: 00 p.m.
Adjournment
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted E. Thompson that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation;
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 11:25 p.m.
