Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at
in the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Mft,
Grove village, and noted for the record that the following were
present: Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, Gayle Bantner and Ted E. Thompson.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted E. Thompson that
the minutes of February 27, 1995 be approved as submitted and that the
Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation; whereupon the chairman declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
Dr. Charles Boyajian $ 415.00
F/F Recruit Physical - Lance Harris
Peter A. Felice 320.00
For Retainer fees for February & March
at $160 each
Total of Bills $ 735.00
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted Thompson that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the
motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Commissioners convene to Executive Session to interview two
candidates for the Police Sergeants list.
Discussion took place reference grades for the Sergeants list.
The list is now ready.
The regular meeting continued.
NEW BUSINESS
Lt. Hanko's retirement effective May 4, 1995, will create a
vacancy for Lieutenant. The Fire Chief sent memo to Village Manager to
create a temporary position for Firefighter until Hanko's retirement.
This will be brought before the Board on March 28, 1995.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Notice of Suspension issued on March 2, 1995 by the Chief of
Police to Police Officer for two(2) days for disobedience of an
Order, written or oral and failure to operate Village vehicles in
a safe and prudent manner, or to obey related' traffic laws.

2. Copy of letter that was sent to State Legislators reference HB 2279
Creation of the Police and Fire Department Promotion Act voicing
our opposition to the Act. Peter Felice our attorney represents
several municipalities and he included them also voicing a no vote
for HB 2279.
Instructions given to give the Village Manager and Village
President copy of the letter opposing HB 2279.
3 . Copy of results from NWMC survey reference to Police and Fire
recruitment application fees.
PENDING
Scheduling an interview for another Firefighter.
Next meeting is scheduled for April 19, 1995, cancelling the April
24, 1995 meeting, at the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901
Wellington Avenue at 9: 00 p.m.
Adjournment
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted E. Thompson that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation;
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
