Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M.
in the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk
Grove village, and noted for the record that the following were
present: Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, Gayle Bantner and Ted E. Thompson.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted E. Thompson that
the minutes of March 20, 1995 and special minutes of March 9, 13 and
16, 1995 be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the
reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon
the Chairman declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
Theodore Polygraph Service $ 60.00
F/F Applicant Louis DiGraiza
Total of Bills $ 60.00
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted Thompson that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the
motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
None
NEW BUSINESS
Waiting for Village Board approval of Temporary Firefighter
positions to be requested at meeting April 25, 1995. If positions are
approved Sergeant Hollywood will have the background investigations
completed by May 9.
The Fire and Police Commission will meet on May 10th instead of
May 22, 1995 as their regular meeting to complete single orals in order
to have the candidates ready to start on May 30th.
One applicant Louis DiGrazia took Polygraph and phoned he took a
firefighters position with the Fire Department of Naperville.
Received letter of retirement from Lawrence Novak effective June
8, 1995, after 26 years, which the Commission accepted with regret.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Memo from the Chief of Police with copies of memos attached from
Police Officers Gigante, Greenberg, and McGreal requesting to meet
with the Commissioners to discuss their test results of the
Sergeant Exam.

Instructions given to send memo to the Chief of Police with copies
to each Police officer, the Commissioners policy is not to discuss
test results.
2. Copy of Fax sent to Peter Felice, Fire and Police Commission
attorney, reference SB 850 - creating the Police and Fire
Department Promotion Act. Mr. Felice has already sent letters to
village Senators and Representatives voicing the village Fire and
Police Commission OPPOSITION of this bill.

Next meeting is scheduled for May 10, 1995, cancelling the May 22,
1995 meeting, at the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901
Wellington Avenue at 8:00 p.m.
Adjournment
It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Ted E. Thompson
that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the
meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
