Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
in the Charles J. zettek Municipal Building, 901 wellington Avenue, Elk
Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following were
present: Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, Gayle B. Bantner and Ted E. Thompson.
It was moved by Ted Thompson and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that
the minutes of February 26, 1996 be approved as submitted and that the
Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Fire and Police Commissioners convened tO an executive session
for three(3) Six Month Probationary Reviews. Two(2) Police Officers
Russell J. Sullivan, Alonzo E. Roberts and One(1) Firefighter Daniel E.
Schneider.
The. Fire and Police Commissioners also met with the Fire Chief and
Deputy Fire Chief to discuss the upcoming Firefighter exams. The
Eligibility List for Firefighters expires December 8, 1996.
The regular meeting was reconvened

It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted Thompson that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the
motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
None
CORRESPONDENCE
1. written Reprimand issued by the Chief of Police on March 11, 1996
to and officer for failure to be prompt for duty assignment
including roll call and court appearance.
2. Copy of thank you memo from Deputy Chief Schmidt to all the Police
Department personnel who assisted with the Police Orientation on
March 18 and the Police Exam on March 24, 1996.

Dates to be set for the Multiple Orals for the Police applicants.
Next meeting is scheduled April 22, 1996 at the Charles J. zettek
Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue at 7:00 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted Thompson that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation;
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 10:00 p.m.

On the motion on behalf of Patrick Hayes through his attorney,
Joseph Mazone, and George Knickerbocker, Attorney for the Chief of
Police Fred Engelbrecht, and by agreement of the parties, this matter
is continued to Z q _ 1996 at 7, z z _ p.m.
Patrick Hayes. shall remain suspended without pay, pending the
hearing.
