Chairman Gayle B. Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p. �
in the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk,
Grove village, and noted for the record that the following were
present: Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, Gayle B. Bantner and Ted E. Thompson.
It was moved by Ted Thompson and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that
the minutes of June 24, 1996 be approved as submitted and that the
Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Fire and Police Commissioners convened tO an executive session
to interview a six month probationary Police Officer David Klingsporn.
The Fire and Police Commissioners also met with the Fire Chief and
Deputy Fire Chief to discuss the upcoming Firefighter exams and making
final dates and times for the exams.
The regular meeting was reconvened
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
Peter A. Felice $ 320.00
Monthly retainer for June a July $160 ea.
Theodore Polygraph Service 70. 00
F/F Applicant Kali Pawlik
Total of Bills $ 390.00
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted Thompson that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the
motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Dates set for two(2) Firefighter applicants for second oral
interviews on August 14th.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Letter from Vincent J. Logan Police Officer applicant requesting
information on his multiple oral exam.
2. Copy of letter to Chief Thomas F. Moore from Deputy Chief Clark
setting dates for the physical ability test to be held in October.
3. written Reprimand issued on July 16, 1996, by Chief of Police to an
Officer for failure to be prompt for court appearance.
OLD BUSINESS
Discussion on Robert Arnolds status at this time reference his
being removed from disability, voted by Police Pension Board to return
to duty. Chairman Bantner will discuss with Attorney Peter Felice.
PENDING
Firefighter exam to be held in September, to establish a list
before the present one expires on December 8, 1996.
Next meeting is scheduled August 26, 1996 at the Charles J. Zettek
Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue at 7:00 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Ted Thompson that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation;
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
