Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 8: 00 p.m. in the Charles J. 2ettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove -. Village, and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Alan J. Shapiro, DDS and Ted E. Thompson. It was moved by Ted Thompson and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that the minutes of January 27, 1997 be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Commissioners convened to Executive Session to hold one year probationary reviews with two(2) Firefighters, which are Matthew Reidy and George Burger. Both Firefighters status changed to permanent Firefighter effective February 26, 1997. The Commissioners then met with Police Applicant Michael Korzeniowski for a great length of time. The Commissioners informed Mr. Korzeniowski that they were sorry, but he fail to meet the standards of testing for the position of Police Officer with Elk Grove Village. The Commissioners then met with Police Applicant Johnnell Williams after a period of questioning the Commissioners offered Mr. Williams the position as Police Officer with Elk Grove pending his passing the medical. The Commissioners then reconvened their regular meeting. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES Theodore Polygraph Service $ 70.00 Michael Korzeniowski Police Applicant Federal Express 15. 50 Michael Korzeniowski Theodore Polygraph Service 70. 00 Johnnell Williams Police Applicant Total of Bills $ 155.50 It was moved by Ted Thompson and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation; whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. NEW BUSINESS None CORRESPONDENCE 1. Written Reprimand issued by the Chief of Police on January 29, 1997 to Police Officer for incompetency or inefficiency in the performance of duty. 2. Memo from Chief of Police informing the Fire and Police Commission that the disciplinary action taken against Police Officer David Klingsporn has been revised. 3 . Letter from Firefighter applicant James P. Hauber asking for information on why he fail the Multiple Orals. 4. Letter from Firefighter applicant George Ganas requesting information on his standing before he took the Multiple Orals. Commissioners instructed that a letter be sent to each applicant that they signed a confidential form when they first started the testing process that all information was confidential and not open for review. S. Copy of memo sent to Gary Parrin, Village Manager from Chief MacArthur, Fire Chief asking that Firefighter position be filled since Richard Cassady resign. OLD BUSINESS None PENDING Arranging for three(3) six month probationary firefighters interviews with the Commissioners on March 24, 1997 starting at 8:00 p.m. Planning the Fire Lieutenants examination tentatively for May 1997, no assessment center will be conducted. Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 24, 1997 at 8:00 p.m. ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Ted Thompson and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that the meeting be adjourned.
