HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 10/20/1998 - MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON OCTOBER 20, 1998 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Alan J. Shapiro and Robert Goldsmith. It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the minutes of the September 15, 1998 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES An invoice in the amount of$414.00 from Police Consultants, Inc. for 23 Multiple Interview Assessment Reports. An invoice in the amount of$1,750.00 from Police Consultants, Inc. for 23 Promotional Examination for Police Sergeant and one (1) Expert Panel Review. An invoice in the amount of$320.00 from Peter Felice for retainer fees for the months of August and September, 1998. It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Board entered into Executive Session to conduct Individual Police Sergeant Interviews, CORRESPONDENCE A subpoena for William Elliott from the Elk Grove Firefighters Pension Board. A memo from Police Consultants, Inc. announcing the release of the New Generation Police entrance examination. A Notice of Suspension for a Police Officer for violating Rules of Conduct and Failure to Obey Department Orders regarding outside employment. 2 A Written Reprimand for a Police Officer for violating Rules of Conduct and for Failure to adequately secure use, care for and maintain Department property or equipment. A Written Reprimand for a Police Officer for violating Rules of Conduct and for Incompetency in the Performance of Duty. A thank you letter from Steve Schmidt in regards to the recent re-accreditation conducted. PENDING Police Officer Entry Examination scheduled for November 6°i and November 7`h NEW BUSINESS N/A OLD BUSINESS N/A ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 12:20 p.m. 6 Dr. Alan'J.
