HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 11/17/1998 - MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON NOVEMBER 17, 1998 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Alan J. Shapiro, and Robert Goldsmith. It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the minutes of the October 20, 1998 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES An invoice in the amount of$842.24 for the Police Officer exam from the Rockford Star newspaper. An invoice in the amount of$1,370.00 for the Police Officer exam from the Daily Herald. An invoice in the amount of$838.95 for the Police Officer exam from the Chicago Tribune. It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Board entered into Executive Session to conduct a 6 month probationary review for a new Police Officer. CORRESPONDENCE A probationary Police Officer's resignation. A Written Reprimand for a Police Officer for Violating Rules of Conduct, Disobedience of an Order and Failure to Operate a Village Vehicle in a safe manner. A Notice of Suspension for a Police Officer for Violating Rules of Conduct and Failure to Appear in Court. A Notice of Suspension for a Police Officer for Violating Rules of Conduct, Disobedience of an Order and Incompetency in the Performance of Duty. PENDING Interviews for new Police Officer applicants. The Posting of the Police Sergeant's List. NEW BUSINESS N/A OLD BUSINESS N/A ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned.
