OF THE BOATRD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON DECEMBER 15, 1998
Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek
Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the
following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Alan J. Shapiro and Robert
Goldsmith.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the minutes of the
October 20, 1998 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the
reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman
declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INOVICES
An invoice in the amount of$40.00 to the IPFA for membership dues for 1999.
An invoice in the amount of$320.00 for retainer fees for Peter Felice for the months of
October and November, 1998.
An invoice in the amount of$225.00 for the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners
Association.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the Board authorize
the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Met with Steve Schmidt. Discussion of Sgt. List and probationary interviews for 2 Police
Officers.
CORRESPONDENCE
A survey request from NWMC in regards to educational requirements for entry level
Firefighters.
A written reprimand for a police officer for violating rules of conduct and failure to
perform a duty.
A written reprimand for another police officer for violating rules of conduct and failure to
be prompt for duty.
A letter from a Sergeant candidate explaining why he did not show up for his interview.

A copy of a letter that was sent to a Police Officer's wife thanking her for her
participation in the recent entry level Police Officer Orientation.
A copy of a Freedom of Information request from the Daily Herald in regards to
receiving copies of general meetings of the Fire and Police Commissioners.
Copies of various Police Officer Performance Evaluations for review.
A signed copy of the newly established Police Sergeant list.
PENDING
Multiple Interviews for the new Police Officer candidates which will be scheduled for
January 14, 1998 and January 21, 1998.

ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the meeting be
adjourned. The motion was voted upon acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner
declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
