HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 05/18/1999 - MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING \ OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON MAY 18, 1999 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro and Robert Goldsmith. It was moved by Bob Goldsmith and seconded by Dr. Alan Shapiro that the minutes of the April 20, 1999 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL 1. An invoice in the amount of$320.00 for retainer fees for April and May, 1999 for Attorney Peter Felice. It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Robert Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Commissioners considered the probation of a one year Police Officer and the probation of five (5)Firefighters. CORRESPONDENCE 1. A written reprimand for a Police Officer for violating Rules of Conduct and Failure to Perform a Duty. 2. A written reprimand for a Police Officer for violating Rules of Conduct and Failure to be Present for Court. 3. A completion of Police Firearms Class for a Police Officer. 4. A memo from a Firefighter given notice of resignation. 5. A memo of retirement for a Firefighter. 6. A memo and response from the Environmental Technical Institute in regards to a Firefighter candidate. 7. A memo from Loves Park Police Department inquiring about a police candidate. 8. A memo from Deputy Schmidt and Deputy Hammar in regards to language changes in the Police Officer Candidate Information Packet. PENDING Firefighter testing process. NEW BUSINESS N/A OLD BUSINESS N/A ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 4:30 p.m. Alan J.
