HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 09/22/1999 - J � MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 22, 1999 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary and Robert Goldsmith, Commissioner. It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the minutes of the August 24, 1999 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES 1. An invoice in the amount of$1,364.44 to Daily Herald for Police Officer ad. 2. An invoice in the amount of$1,245.00 to The Clinic for medicals for three newly firefighter candidates. 3. An invoice in the amount of$2,590.00 to Police Consultants, Inc. for 83 Police Officer exams. 4. An invoice in the amount of$1,818.32 to the Rockford Registered Star for Police Officer exam ad. 5. An invoice in the amount of$320.00 to Peter A Felice for retainer for August and September, 1999. 6. An invoice in the amount of$1,200.00 to Police Consultants, Inc. for three psychological exams for three firefighter candidates. A EXECUTIVE SESSION ocr Dr. Mendehlson to discuss police candidates. 1999 Chief Schmidt to discuss police candidates. RGEC(f�Ks 0"F/�E Probationary review (1 year) for 5 firefighters. CORRESPONDENCE I. Correspondence from Chief MacArthur in regards to the 5 probationary firefighters. 2. A memo from a firefighter candidate asking for reconsideration to be hired. 3. A memo from a firefighter candidate asking for additional points to be added to his score in order to raise his standing on the eligibility list. 4. A written reprimand for a police officer for violating rules of conduct. 5. A memo from the Chief Schmidt announcing that Deputy Chief Lebert is being appointed to the position of Deputy Police Chief. 6. A memo from the City of Chicago asking questions in regards to a prior police officer candidate. PENDING Multiple Interviews, Police Officer candidates — Scheduled for October 21, 1999. NEW BUSINESS N/A ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Robert Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 11:20 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Alan J.
