HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 10/21/1999 - MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING Nov 1 OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS 8 1999 OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE VQLAG[ CLERflq OFFICE HELD ON OCTOBER 21, 1999 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary and Robert Goldsmith, Commissioner. It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that the minutes of the September 22, 1999 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES 1. An invoice in the amount of$225.00 to the Illinois Fire&Police Association for 1999-2000 membership. 2. An invoice in the amount of $397.10 in payment to the Spanish newspaper for the Police Officer ad. 3. An invoice in the amount of$540.00 to Copley Newspaper in payment for the Police Officer ad. 4. An invoice in the amount of$1,740.00 to Chicago Tribune in payment for the Police Officer ad. It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Robert Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION Probationary review (6 month) of a newly hired Police Officer. CORRESPONDENCE 1. Paperwork regarding 6 month probationary Police Officer employee. 2. Notice regarding a request to promote a Police Officer to Sergeant and a Sergeant to Commander. 3. Memo regarding the Y2K plan for our polygraph testing service. 4. A copy of a memo that was sent to one of our Firefighter candidates by Peter Felice regarding interpretation of the law as it relates to the eligibility list. 5. Copies of memos regarding our five new Police Officers advising that they have completed the Law Enforcement Certification Examination. PENDING Results of Police Officer Multiple Interviews and the continuing Police Officer testing process. NEW BUSINESS N/A ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Robert Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned.
