HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 04/18/2000 - MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON APRIL 18, 2000 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 7:50 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary and Robert Goldsmith, Commissioner. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the minutes of the March 21, 2000 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES The following invoices were presented for payment: 1. The Clinic/Dr. Boyajian—Invoice dated March 30, 2000 $1660.00 Pre-employment examinations for four police officer candidates. It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION Discussed and approved request from Dr. Boyajian to increase rate of pre-employment physicals to $485.00. CORRESPONDENCE 1. Police Officer Educational Requirements—Memo from Chief Schmidt. 2. Discussions on one-year probationary reviews for police officers as it pertains to conducting the interview at the end of one year or at the end of completion of the Academy. PENDING Upcoming Police Officer Testing—June 5`h Orientation—June 10`h Written Examination.
