Zettek E Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Banner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary and Robert Goldsmith, Commissioner. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the minutes of the May 16, 2000 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES The following invoices were presented for payment: 1. Daily Herald- Police Officer Employment Ad—I day $516.75 2. VIA Times -Police Officer Employment Ad— 1 Publ. $75.00 3. Daily Herald-Legal Notice for Police Officer Position $101.53 4. Chicago Tribune - Police Officer Ad— 1 day $1673.00 5. Spanish Amer. Newspapers - Police Officer Ad— I day $897.00 6. Rockford Register Star—Police Ad—2 invs. Totaling $1493.84 7. Police Consultants, Inc. Police Officer Entry Exams $1751.00 It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION 1. Conducted six-month firefighter probationary review. 2. Discussed scheduling of police officer hiringprocess 3. Discussed scheduling off:refighter hiring process 4. Discussed timing of probationary period for firefighters (copy of contract section 12-2 attached). 5. Discussed unapproved access to Fire &Police Commission Offices. CORRESPONDENCE 1. Copies of assignment letters for police officers and clerical help for the police Officer orientation and written exam. Copies of Police Department Publications, "The Beat Goes On", editions 1,2 and 3. 4. Copy of article titled, "The Recruitment Dilemma"from Law& Order Magazine. 5. Probationary Review comments from Chief MacArthur relating to six-month firefighter review. 6. Copies ofpromotional flyers received from Larry Hammar regarding recruiting. PENDING 1. Police Hiring Process— Continuing 2. Firefighter Hiring Process - Continuing NEW BUSINESS ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Robert Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned.
