MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON AUGUST 15,2000
Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek
Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the
following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary and
Robert Goldsmith, Commissioner.
It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the
minutes of the July 18, 2000 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board
dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation
whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
The following invoices were presented for payment:
1. Police Consultants- $446.50—Multiple Interview Assessments—Police
Officer Candidates—07/18/00;
2. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice #12569- $80.00 for firefighter
candidate polygraph - Mau;
3. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice #12594- $160.00 for police
officer candidate polygraphs—Perrson &Sullivan;
4. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice $12583 - $160.04for firefighter
candidate polygraphs— Wind&Bielawa;
5. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice 912600- $160.00for police
candidate polygraphs—Kapolnek& O'Neill.
6. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice #12602- $160.00 for police
candidate polygraphs—Larson & Kleinfeldt.
7. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice 912610- $240.00 for police
candidate polygraphs -Maduzia/Cromn/Venegas
8. Combined Graphics— Invoice 491901 - $129.00 for printing of blank
commission cards.
It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the Board authorize
the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.

CORRESPONDENCE
1. Copy of Suspension Notice to Police Officer for violating Section IV,
Rules of Conduct, Rule 11.
2. Copy of appointment letter to a Probationary Firefighter.
3. Copy of Elk Grove Police Department Publication, "The Beat Goes
On", August 2000 edition.
4. Copy of new Police Officer Candidate Eligibility List dated July 21,
2000.
5. Copy of brochure for annual Illinois Municipal League Conference.
6. Copy of memo to Human Resources advising a Probationary Police
Officer has completed her one-year probationary period.
7. Letter of congratulations to a Deputy Fire Chief on his recent
appointment.
8. Copy of Memo from Fire Chief requesting promotion of the next two
firefighters on the Lieutenant Eligibility List effective 7124100.
9. Copy of memo from Fire Chief to Village Manager requesting
authorization for Fire/Police Commission to hire three firefighters in
time for the next academy; request approved.

NEW BUSINESS
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded by Robert Goldsmith that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner
declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m.
