HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 09/19/2000 - CC: VILLAGE CLERK OCT 2 6 2000 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING ! !!Apr OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS` OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2000 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary and Robert Goldsmith, Commissioner. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the minutes of the August 15, 2000 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES The following invoices were presented for payment: 1. Police Consultants - $1,200.00—Invoice 1853 dated 08/29/00 Psychological Assessments for 3 Police Officer Candidates. Police Consultants - $400.00—Invoice 1859 dated 08/31/00 Psychological Assessment for Police Officer Candidate; 2. Police Consultants - $400.00—Invoice 1842 dated 08/16/00 Psychological Assessment for Firefighter Candidate: 3. Police Consultants - $400.00—Invoice 1840 dated 08/15/00 Psychological Assessment for Firefighter Candidate; 4. Theodore Polygraph—$80.00 -Invoice 12634 dated 08/28/00 Polygraph Testing for Police Officer Candidate; 5. Dr. Charles Boyajian - $495.00—Invoice dated 8/24/00 for Pre-employment physical for Firefighter Candidate 6. Victorin Business Machines - $90.00—Invoice 3665 dated 08/23/00— for typewriter repair. 7. Charles Boyajian, MD- $1,485.00—Pre-employment physicals for (3) Police Officer Candidates. 8. Daily Herald- $516.75—Police Recruitment Ad—5/21/00 It was moved by Dr. Shapiro and seconded by Bob Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Final Probationary Reviews for three probationary police off cers. 3. Met with Deputy Bill Clark to discuss hiring process and probationary review process. CORRESPONDENCE 1. Copies of Police Department Performance Reports for Probationary Police Officers.. 2. Copy of Elk Grove Police Department Publication, "The Beat Goes On", September 2000 edition. 3. Copy of invitation to attend the Sister Cities Dinner Dance. 4. Chief Schmidt's memo to probationary officers informing them of their probationary review. 5. Copy of letter from Police Officer Candidate withdrawing from our hiring process. 6. Copy of letter from Police Officer Candidate requesting that we bypass his name on the eligibility list. 7. Copy of Suspension Notice for Police Officer for failure to appear for Traffic Court. 8. Copy of written reprimand issued to Police Officer for failure to appear for a court assignment. 9. Copy of appointment letters to three newly hired Probationary Police Officers. 10. Copy of written reprimand to Police Officer for violating Section IV, Rule 46,failure to operate Village vehicle in a safe and prudent manner, or to obey related traffic laws. 11. Copy of written reprimand to Police Officer for violating Section IV, Rule 49, Failure to appear in court when required or scheduled 12. Copy of memo from Police Chief to Village Manager regarding authorization to hire three new recruit officers on 09125/2000. 13. Village of Hanover Park Firefighter Recruitment Survey PENDING 1.
