HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 10/24/2000 - CC: Village C' G > MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING app OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS p OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON OCTOBER 24,2000 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary and Robert Goldsmith, Commissioner. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the minutes of the September 19, 2000 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES The following invoices were presented for payment: 1. Police Consultants - $400.00—Invoice 1901 dated 10/03/00 for psychological assessment for one police officer candidate. 2. Theodore Polygraph - $80.00—Invoice 12680 dated 9/20/00 for polygraph examination for one firefighter candidate; 3. Theodore Polygraph - $80.00—Invoice 12692 dated 9/29/00 for polygraph examination for one firefighter candidate. 4. Theodore Polygraph - $80.00—Invoice 12710 dated 10/11/00 for polygraph examination for one police officer candidate. 5. Peter A. Felice &Associates $480.00—Retainer fee for August, September and October 2000. 6. Unishippers - $35.75—Invoice 357252 dated 7/31/00— Overnight letter delivery to firefighter candidate. 7. Illinois Fire &Police Commissioner's Association- $275.00—Annual membership fee. It was moved by Mr. Goldsmith and seconded by Dr. Shapiro that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION 1. Final Probationary Review for firefighter; 2. Six-month Probationary Reviews for three firefighters; 3. Final Probationary Review for police officer; 4. Individual oral interviews for firefighter and police ofcer candidates. Annual Membership Renewal Form for Illinois Fire &Police Commissioner's Association; 3. Copy of Subpoena for personnel records relating to formerly employed police officer; 4. Copy of letter to Human Resources advising completion ofprobationary period for three police officers. 5. Copy of Suspension Notice issued to police officer for violating section IV, Rules of Conduct, Rule 46,failure to operate a Village vehicle in a safe and prudent manner. 6. Copy of Suspension Notice issued to police officerfor violating Section IV, Rules of Conduct, Rule 49, Failure to appear in court when required or scheduled. 7. Copy of Written Reprimand issued to police officerfor violating Section IV, Rules of Conduct, Rule 49, Failure to appear in court when required or scheduled. 8. Copy of request from firefighter candidate requesting a one-time bypass on the eligibility list; 9. Copy of one-year performance evaluation for probationaty firefighter. 10. Copy ofsix-month performance evaluationsfor three probationary firefighters. 11. Copy of Written Reprimand issued to police officerfor violating Section IV, Rules of Conduct, Rule 49,failure to appear in court when required or scheduled PENDING 1.
