HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 04/17/2001 - CC: Village Cl( MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE F HELD ON APRIL 17, 2001 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary and Robert Goldsmith, Commissioner. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the minutes of the March 20, 2001 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES The following invoices were presented for payment: 1. Peter A. Felice &Associates, Invoice 589 dated 3130101 in the amount of$160.00—Retainer fee for March 2001. 2. Police Consultants, Inc. —Invoice 2089 dated 3121101 for$2261.00 for Fire Lieutenant Written Examinations and Expert Panel Review. 3. Police Consultants, Inc. —Invoice 2101 dated 4/3/01 for$400.00for psychological evaluation offirefighter candidate. 4. Police Consultants, Inc. —Invoice 92107 dated 4/6/01 for$400.00— psychological evaluation offirefighter candidate. 5. Daily Herald—Invoice T2553217 dated 3123101 $20.00 for notice of appeal hearing forPolice Officer. 6. Theodore Polygraph Service Invoice 12946 dated 3121101 for$600.00 for polygraph examinations for six police officer candidates. 7. Corporate Express -Invoice 22276002 dated 3/21/01 for$34.55 for printer ink cartridge. 8. Canon Business Solutions—Invoice 1679289 dated 4112101 for $2300.00 for copy machine. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. Discussed Appeal Hearing Decision CORRESPONDENCE 1. Copy of Filing Notice received from police officer's attorney. 2. Copy of memo from Chief MacArthur regarding settlement agreement with firefighter. 3. Notice of Appeal Hearing for the Suspension of a police officer. 4. Six-month Probationary Review comments/criticisms for Probationary Officers. 5. Notice of Suspension for police off cer for violating Rules of Conduct, Chapter 26.1.1A, Rule 49 (failure to appear in court when required) an Rule 02(action or conduct which brings discredit upon the Department). 6. Notice of Suspension for police officer for violating Rules of Conduct, Chapter 26.1.IA, Rule 27(failure to obey Department Orders concerning other employment, occupation, or profession). 7. Copy of legal notice announcing firefighter exam submitted to Daily Herald for publication on April 17, 2001. PENDING 1. Police Officer Hiring Process—Continuing—three openings 2.
