HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 07/17/2001 - CC: Village Clerk �} MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING �l OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON JULY 17, 2001 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Commissioner H. Robert Goldsmith, and Dr. Alan J. Shapiro, Secretary. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the minutes of the June 19, 2001 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES The following invoices were presented for payment: 1. Police Consultants, Inc. —Invoice 2208 dated 06128101 in the amount of $500.00 for psychological evaluation of one police officer candidate. 2. Peter A. Felice &Associates—Invoice 623 dated 07102101 in the amount of$160.00 for June retainer fee. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION 1. Conducted individual oral interviews for fire lieutenant candidates. 2. Discussed hiring schedules. CORRESPONDENCE 1. Copy of letter to R.S. Olsen advising completion of probationary period for four police officers. 2. Copy of letter to Chief MacArthur requesting evaluation points and narrative comments for fire lieutenant candidates. 3. Copy of letter from firefighter announcing his retirement effective July 27, 2001. 4. Copy of letter from Deputy Fire Chief announcing his requirement effective July 27, 2001. Firefighter Hiring Process —Continuing—five present openings. 3. Fire Lieutenant Process—Continuing individual oral interviews NEW BUSINESS ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded Commissioner Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Alan J.
