HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 12/18/2001 - a \ti C: Village Clerk RECEIVED JAN 2 4 2002 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING 'U.AGE CLERK'S OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON DECEMBER 18,2001 Chairman Bantner called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Secretary Alan J. Shapiro, and Commissioner H. Robert Goldsmith. It was moved by Commissioner Goldsmith and seconded by Chairman Bantner that the minutes of November 20, 2001 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES The following invoices were presented for payment: 1. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice 13258 dated 11-19-01 in the amount of $300.00 for polygraph examinations for three firefighter candidates. 2. Unishippers—Invoice 364896 dated 11/30/01 in the amount of$13.40; overnight delivery to Peter Felice. 3. Peter Felice&Associates—Invoice 662 dated 12/3/01 in the amount of $160.00 for November retainer fee. 4. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice 13280 dated 12-03-01 in the amount of $500.00 for polygraph examinations for five police officer candidates. 5. Police Consultants—Invoice 2418 dated 12-07-01 in the amount of$500.00 for psychological examination for firefighter candidate. 6. Police Consultants—Invoice 2380 dated 12-10-01 in the amount of$500.00 for psychological examination for firefighter candidate. 7. Theodore Polygraph Service—Invoice 13288 in the amount of$300.00 for three police candidate polygraphs. It was moved by Secretary Shapiro and seconded by Commissioner Goldsmith that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION 1. Discuss scheduling of Police Sergeant's Examination. Current list expired on 12/16/01. 2. Meeting with Deputy Chief Lebert to discuss hiring processes. Copy of written reprimand issued to Police Officer for violating Section 26.1.1 A, Rules of Conduct, Rule 49. Failure to appear in court when required or scheduled. 2. Copy of memo to R. Olson advising that a firefighter has successfully completed his firefighter probationary period. 3. Copy of Peter Felice's response to Attorney Angelucci regarding political affiliations. PENDING 1. Police Officer Hiring Process-Continuing-two present police officer openings. 2. Firefighter Hiring Process -Continuing-three present openings. NEW BUSINESS ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded Secretary Shapiro that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m Respectfully submitted, 490-7 W S Alan J.
