Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Commissioner H. Robert Goldsmith, and Secretary Alan J. Shapiro, DDS. It was moved by Commissioner Goldsmith and seconded by Secretary Shapiro that the minutes of November 19, 2002 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES The following invoices were presented for payment: I. Peter A. Felice & Associates—Invoice dated 11/25/02 in the amount of $4,200.00 for professional fees in connection with Kevin Quinn, et al v. Elk Grove Village, et al 01 Ch 16623 and 01 CV 8504. 2. Corporate Express—Invoice #38733525 dated 12/6/02 for office supplies (print cartridge, date stamp and "confidential" stamp). 3. Illinois Professional Firefighters Association—2003 Membership Invoice in the amount of$50.00. It was moved by Commissioner Goldsmith and seconded by Chairman Bantner that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION (Closed session minutes recorded). CORRESPONDENCE 1. Memo to Dick Olson advising that probationary officer hired on 09/24/01 has successfully completed his probationary period and should be transferred to permanent status. 2. Copy of Judge Bush's dismissal decision in the State case and copy of the Plaintiff's Notice of Appeal in the matter of Kevin Quinn et al v. Elk Grove Village et al. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS Page Two December 17, 2002 3. Copy of letter sent to 57 firefighter applicants to notify them of their scheduled multiple interview. 4. Copy of letter of resignation from Peter Felice. 5. Copy of letter from Peter Felice advising that he has contacted Noah Lipschultz to request that his name be removed from the pending litigation in the K. Quinn et al v. Elk Grove Village et al matter. 6. Copy of memo from Chief Schmidt regarding the progress of a probationary officer. 7. Copy of six-month progress reports from Chief MacArthur regarding the performance of Probationary Firefighters. 8. Copy of memo to Chief MacArthur requesting comments and/or constructive criticism regarding the performance of four probationary firefighters. PENDING Police Officer Hiring Process—three openings (not being replaced at this time). Firefighter Hiring Process—two openings (eligibility list exhausted). Firefighter Testing Process—Multiple Group Interviews conducted today. NEW BUSINESS ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Chairman Bantner and seconded Commissioner Goldsmith that the meeting be adjourned.
