Village Board Meeting Schedule
The consensus of the Village Board was to hold only one
meeting in November and December. The meeting dates will
be November 16 and December 14.
Calumet Citv Revenue Sharing of Gaming Proceeds
The consensus of the Village Board was to accept the offer
from the Mayor of Calumet City to share in gaming proceeds
if a casino license is granted for that city.
Staff will contact the Mayor of Calumet City to indicate
the Village's desire to participate, and staff will
contact the South Suburban Mayors and Manager's Conference
to obtain the necessary agreement to be placed on the next
Village Board agenda.
Salt Creek Bank Stabilization
Following a presentation by Nick Nikola, the consensus of
the Village Board was:
• Pursue grant funds for the stabilization of the Salt
Creek bank;
• Notify the Park District and High School that the Village
will be serving as the lead agency for this grant;
• Seek the support of the Cook County Forest Preserve in
securing grant funds; and,
• Explore the availability of grant funds for this project.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
