This property includes the Antiques Mart and Villa Marcella restaurant. A developer has acquired the eastern half of the shopping center, and proposes the construction of a microbrewery, family restaurant, and approximately$2 million of site and fagade improvements. The developer has expressed interest in acquiring the property currently under contract with the Village. The Mayor noted that the shopping center will remain TIF eligible, though at this time there is no need to establish the TIF district. The Village Attorney reported that the Board would need to formally approve the purchase of the property at this evening's Village Board meeting. In addition, the developer has posted a marketing sign on the property exceeding the Village's sign area restrictions, and requests a variation. The consensus of the Board was to approve the purchase of the property and the sign variation at the Board meeting. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
