Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly
scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on 05/08/01 this
Executive Session was called to consider a LAND ACOSILTI TION matter.

LAND ACQUISITION
The Mayor stated that the Village needs to actively seek the development of the
Busse Farm property. He suggested retailers such as Home Depot and Meijers. The
Mayor noted the high asking price for this land is preventing its development and the
Village can act as a catalyst by financing any difference between market price and asking
price, and recoup such costs through TIF financing.
The consensus of the Village Board was to consider such proposals if a developer
expresses an interest in this site.
Finally,the Mayor stated the Village should become actively involved in land
acquisition and development, specifically along the Devon and Higgins Road corridors.
