Womer, Chicago Tribune DISTRIBUTION OF AGENDA INFORMATION The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the recommendations of the Information Committee to have agenda information distributed as follows: • to have copies of the Village Board Agenda provided to the Library, Park District and Senior Center on the first and third Thursdays of each month; • to have copies of the Committee of the Whole Agenda faxed to the Library, Park District, and Senior Center on the Monday after publication. • to have staff work with Mike Hinko to develop methods of displaying agendas on Channel 6; and • to have Committee of the Whole back-up material available to the press on the Monday following publication. REVr rON TONEWSLETTERG The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the recommendation of the Information Committee and include an article in August 1997 Villager seeking public comments on how to improve Village newsletters. TELEVISING OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETINGS The consensus of the Committee was as follows; • to televise Committee of the whole meetings from the Council Chambers in a round table format in front of the dais, before the Village Board meetings; • to allow Village Board members to request that specific items be removed from discussion based on the sensitivity of the issue; and • to have staff work with Channel 6 to begin televising the Committee of the Whole meetings starting September 9, 1997 G an nr . AT R •rNGTON H .I-HT ROAD AND Y .V M .00T The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the recommendation of the Capital Improvements Committee and do the following: • to plant "car catching' bushes in the right-of-way along Arlington Heights Road; and • to relocate the fire hydrant 2 to 3 feet west of the proposed location rUARDRATr, AT MEACHAM AND NERQP The consensus of the Committee was to have a letter sent to the Schrams indicating the following: • that the Village will not provide any financial assistance for any protective measures on the property; • that the village will allow a variation to allow the cement fenceposts inside the fence, subject to the smooth side facing Nerge Road; and • that the village will allow a double fence to be installed on their property. MEMORIAL, DAY A TTVTTY The consensus of the Committee was to have Trustee Prochno meet with the Elk Grove VFW to arrange for Memorial Day activities in 1998. WORKPLACE ARA M .NT PO .T Y The consensus of the Committee was to adopt the Workplace Harassment Policy as recommended by the Personnel Committee. A resolution approving the policy will be placed on the July 22, 1997 Consent Agenda. TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT POLICY The consensus of the Committee was to amend the Travel Regulations as recommended by the Personnel Committee. A resolution approving the policy will be placed on the July 22, 1997 Consent Agenda.
