Wong, Daily Herald COMMUNITY SPIRIT AWARD ` The consensus of the Committee was to approve of the Community Spirit Award Program as presented by the Community Service Board. Approval of $4,229 in seed money for the program will be placed on the September 23, 1997 Consent Agenda. OAKTON STREET SPEED STUDY The consensus of the Committee was as follows: • to maintain a 30 m.p.h. speed limit on Oakton Street between Arlington Heights Road and Shadywood Lane; and • to have a letter sent to the residents on Oakton Street informing them of the speed study results, the Village Board's decision, and that the Police Department will continue to monitor traffic in the area. SATURDAY DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICE The consensus of the Committee was to eliminate Saturday Dial-A-Ride service from 4 to 6 p.m. effective November 1, 1997. Information on the change in service hours will be distributed by PACE and through Village media sources. EMPLOYEE COMPUTER PURCHASE PROGRAM The consensus of the Committee was to approve and implement the Employee Computer Purchase Program as recommended by staff. BICYCLE REFLECTORS The consensus of the Committee was as follows: • to have an article placed in the Spring 1998 Villager newsletter informing residents of Village requirements pertaining to bicycle reflectors; and • to have the Police Department research whether reflector tape is acceptable in lieu of reflectors. OVERWEIGHT TRUCK FINES The consensus of the Committee was to amend the fine for overweight trucks as recommended by the JPZ Committee. ordinance amending the fine structure will be a� September 9, 1997 Village Board meeting. ELK GROVE HIGH SCHOOL• ON-STREET PARKING- The consensus of the Committee was to appro 1 to residents around Elk Grove High School and to discussion on the issue following the September 3 _ wee meeting with affected residents.
